A New Year…A New Focus!
The Lord has blessed us to arrive at the beginning of another year. While the transition from 2011 to 2012 is as instantaneous as one tick of the clock and is largely symbolic, it still represents some very real opportunities and possibilities. We should take the New Year as an opportunity to seek God’s will in a more focused way. Regardless of our age or the number of years we have been walking with the Lord, that’s something that all of us can improve on. We should take the New Year as an opportunity to discard thoughts and practices that haven’t been productive. Scripture tells us that “…as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverb 23; 7) Changing our reality begins with changing our thoughts. We should also accept every moment of the coming year as a real gift that should be savored and preciously appreciated. The Lord healed me of a terminal illness In 2011. While I fully embrace the reality that we are spiritual beings having temporary physical experiences, such an event has a way of causes us to savor the time God has given us with more appreciation.
Don’t forget that we would love to have you visit us at the Grove during 2012. I believe in my spirit that God is doing something different in His Church during this season. He is calling for new modes of evangelism, new mode of discipleship and growth, and higher levels of commitment to the Kingdom. Watch the level of “insanity” that will be played out during this national election year and let it be a sign that God is calling His Church to call the world to salvation.
See you at The Grove in 2012!
